  15. John Huston's The Asphalt Jungle; in Los Angeles. Maddow's
  16. biting, ironic prose filled such films as Intruder in the Dust
  17. and The Unforgiven. In his 1968 biography for United Artists,
  18. Maddow delineated his career progress after graduation from
  19. Columbia College: "unemployed intellectual -- discovered evil;
  20. hospital technician -- discovered effluvia; scenario writer --
  21. discovered money."
